ABOUT TECHNOLOGY

Sociology + Technology = Science Fiction. It has often been said after the passing of the millennium: the 21st century used to be more beautiful, adventurous and wilder compared with the actual, or we should say compared to what it looks to become. The future often seems to have taken place in the sixties or seventies. Technology never reached the baroque omnipresence of our visions of the future. But technology did spread through our society albeit in far more introverted manner which maybe even makes it more powerful: technology has become our prime socialization process, that what makes us human. Science fiction that doesn't feature technology as a theme is rare, sociology that doesn't feature it at as theme should be rare.

In this section I present texts on such different topics of technological culture as videogames and new mythologies for the 21ste century.
